Our mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests. FSC-certified wood, paper and other forest products are made with materials that support responsible forestry.
FSC-certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards. More than 160 million hectares of forest are managed to FSC standards around the world.
The FSC Principles and Criteria for Forest Stewardship, underpinned by International Generic Indicators, provide an internationally recognised standard for responsible forest management. These requirements are adapted at the national or sub-national level in order to reflect the diverse legal, social and geographical conditions of forests in different parts of the world.
FSC labels can be found on millions of products and items of packaging around the world. What does the label mean? Simply put: by choosing products with FSC labels, you are helping to take care of the world’s forests.
FSC owns five registered trademarks: the name "Forest Stewardship Council", the abbreviation "FSC", the FSC 'tick-tree' logo and the full and text-only 'Forests For All Forever' brandmarks.
