Proposal to re-examine the 1994 Rule for Plantations

10 May to 11 July 2016
Target group
The following FSC stakeholders are strongly encouraged to participate:
- certificate holders
- certificate applicants
- organizations that do not meet the current conversion rules
- FSC key accounts
- affected community members
- representatives of Indigenous People
- non-governmental organizations with a social or environmental interest
- researchers
- network partners
- standard development groups
- certification bodies.
Consultation objectives
We encourage all stakeholders to participate in the consultation, and to provide their opinions and ideas. We are particularly keen to have suggestions for auditable indicators and operational procedures for implementation. When the consultation is closed, the working group will revise the draft proposal based on the feedback. The revised version will again be opened for public consultation, before being ultimately finalized and presented to the FSC Board of Directors for approval, before it is voted on by the FSC membership.
How to respond
Respondents should read the document and use the comments template to present their feedback. Once filled out, the comments template should be sent to: motion12.comments@fsc.org, by 11 July 2016.
