1) Sign up! The WWF are running a campaign to encourage businesses to use sustainably sourced forest products, and to lobby for a change in the European Union Timber Regulation to make sure all wood and paper entering the EU is legal. Head to their campaign website to add your name to the cause!

2) Look for the Logo! When you need to buy wood, paper or card products for your home, make sure they are FSC certified. Certification means that the wood is responsibly sourced; FSC certified forests are ones in which habitats are protected, social values of local people are respected, and the forest remains a forest! When you find the FSC logo on products, why not take a photo and put it on social media. Use the hashtag #chooseFSC.

3) Help others change! Does your office use FSC certified paper or packaging? How about the furniture your business buys? You can help make sure your workplace is more sustainable by ensuring you source FSC certified wood, paper and card products. If you are involved in purchasing, great! If not then why not find out who is and introduce them to the FSC. Organisational purchasing policies can make a huge difference. We can help you with this if you need to find suppliers – contact info@fsc-uk.org.

4) Recycle! Remember to recycle all your paper and card, regardless of where it comes from or whether it’s certified or not. This year Sainsbury’s are running a huge Christmas card recycling campaign at over 800 stores and donating proceeds to the FSC.
