Nowadays many of us look for labels telling us if our eggs are free range or where our jeans were manufactured, so we can make an informed decision on what we buy. Yet, the same can’t be said for the many wood-based products we use every day, such as paper or furniture.

When our eyes land upon that beautifully made, planed and sanded piece of furniture, in the midst of our interest and desire, it might not dawn on us to question where that wood has come from. In their film WWF highlight the alarming reality behind many high street wood and paper products.

They opened a pop up shop in London – Oak and Dagger – to help spread the message that UK shops can still be contributing to deforestation, threatening the home of endangered animals.
