Heather Hulse - FSC UK

Originally trained as a knitwear designer and working for an antique print company, Heather decided on a career change and in 2010 went on to study for a degree in Environmental Conservation at Harper Adams University which led to her working on several projects with The Wildlife Trusts, one being an Engagement Officer for a project to re-introduce the white-faced darter dragonfly to her local Delamere Forest.  With a drive to share her passion for and understanding of nature, Heather naturally gravitated in to teaching and went on to lecture in Conservation at Reaseheath College where she became Programme Leader for the Countryside department.

Heather has a specialist interest in UK botany, having completed a PGDip in Biological Recording at MMU and is a member of the Botanical Society for Britain and Ireland. She can often be found in her spare time studying and recording Britain’s wonderful wildflowers. Heather has a soft spot for woodlands, especially if they contain bogs!

In her role with FSC UK Heather is utilising her education and training skills to support a range of stakeholders including FSC certificate holders and licence holders to navigate current and new legislation such as European Deforestation-free Regulation – EUDR, UK Timber Regulation UKTR and Green Claims Regulation.
