FSC UK has been delighted to play a part in this year’s Royal Forestry Society Excellence in Forestry Awards. At the award ceremony at Lotherton Hall on 6th July, FSC UK Forest Standards Manager Dr Owen Davies introduced the winners of the three categories he had helped to judge; the Duke of Cornwall’s Award for Resilient Woods, the Award for Excellence in Silviculture, and the Small and Farm Woodlands Award.

On 4th July, FSC UK and the Woodland Trust ran a joint workshop in Cleobury Coppice in south Shropshire on the restoration of plantations on ancient woodland sites (PAWS). The workshop covered certification requirements and recommended best practice, and gave peers the opportunity to exchange experiences.
